OUR PROVINCE
The National Capital District (NCD) in Papua New Guinea is a region surrounding the capital city, Port Moresby. It covers 240 square kilometers and has a population of 364,125. NCD is home to important institutions and infrastructure, including the largest airport, second largest seaport, largest university, referral hospital, and sports stadiums. However, rapid growth and urbanization have led to challenges such as informal settlements, high unemployment, poor city planning, and social issues. These problems have strained water and electricity supply and increased the cost of doing business. Addressing these challenges requires comprehensive approaches such as urban planning, social development, and infrastructure improvements.
